Hello, I’m Clare and I am a jewellery designer and maker. I have a BA Hons in 3D design, and over the years I have enjoyed experimenting with a variety of materials from glass, to textiles finally specialising in silversmithing, sterling silver in particular.

I am originally from Derbyshire, and still find inspiration in this rugged landscape and nature. I now live in Ware, Hertfordshire with my family. All my jewellery is handmade in the workshop in my garden. I design and create a wide range of jewellery, some classic, some quirky, but all contemporary. My jewellery is designed to be worn and loved every day; some are shiny statement pieces others are simple and understated.

I love all types of silversmithing, but fusing silver is my passion. I enjoy the process of layering, heating, melting and recycling leftover pieces of silver to create one off, unique pieces of jewellery. I am continually intrigued by how a piece will turn out, heating silver can be unpredictable and I love that every piece of jewellery takes me on a different journey. During the final stages, I add oxide; this enhances the texture adding depth and a subtle sparkle on the raised surface during polishing. Although I make many pieces, no two will ever be the same. With this technique the shapes, textures and forms are different every time, a constant source of fascination.

My website allows you to build your own special items of jewellery, ideal as gifts for yourself or loved ones. Bangles can be personalised with rings and charms to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and other memorable occasions. Bespoke items can also be made by combining my designs by arrangement.
